The SnapAdventures team is made up of hard-working, China-loving, thrill-seeking people from all over the world. We are all long-term China residents and we share a passion to explore this amazing country and seek out new friends and find new ways to have fun. We’re experts at hunting down the best things to do in Beijing (where we’re based) and further afield in China.

Steve Wong

Steve comes from Toronto, Canada and suffers from a terminal case of wanderlust. You’ll most likely find him on most SnapAdventures events and trips as the camera guy hovering about… or the guy at the bar buying drinks for everyone.  There’s no in-between.

John Hanrahan

John is a Philadelphia, USA native who has studied and worked in China for over 4 years, though never before someplace as fun as SnapAdventures. His formidable Chinese skills are in danger of going to pot, now that he finds himself working and socializing with mostly expats and other foreigners.

Scott Gorman

Scott hails from Vermont, USA, and is the quintessential traveler, having worked, studied or traveled to over 75 countries on 6 continents. His attention to detail and work ethic belie a deadpan sense of humor and a penchant for long nights out.

David Goodman-Smith

David is half-British, half-American, and completely bonkers. His wacky sense of fun is the driving force behind most of the events we run. He is dedicated to having a good time in China and won’t let a shirtless group of rugby players get in his way.

Jessica Xie

Jessica is from Jiangxi province in southern China, and has a wealth of experience working with expats. This means she’s learned to deal with our boozy ways and ridiculous (to her) ideas.

Ally Jones

Ally comes from Adelaide, Australia, and was once a nationally-ranked competitive aerobicist. Now she spends her time making sure everyone has a good time on SnapAdventures events, which we’re sure you’ll agree is a much more worthwhile pursuit.

Megan Lee

Megan comes from a town in Indiana, USA, which is probably the impetus for her itch to travel. She is an avid fan of study abroad experiences, which has led her to Africa and China.  Her effervescent personality is on display at most SnapAdventures events.

Annie Kim

Annie was born in South Korea, but spent her formative years in Christchurch, New Zealand. She’s fluent in Korean, English, Chinese and Japanese, and her gung-ho attitude is masked by a smiley face that you’ll find on most SnapAdventures events.
